Description
This was my first visit to the Platte River in central Nebraska to see the Sandhill Crane Migration. 90 percent of the world's sandhill cranes stop to feed in this area each spring. Approximately 500,000 sandhill cranes stop to gain energy from the fertile lands along the Platte River. From mid-February to mid-April the cranes can be seen and heard for 30 miles along the Platte River.
Ths photo was taken from a blind at Rowe Sanctuary with a Nikon E8700 with the lens aperture set at F/3.7, 1/60 second shutter speed and ISO-50.
