The earliest nurials in the Fort Mackinac Post Cemetery date from the 1820s. Some people belive there are burials from the War of 1812. There are approximately 108 burials in the Fort Mackinac Post Cemetery abd 69 are unknown. The cemetery is closed to new burials.
