Artist's Description
The Quincy Smelter near Hancock, Michigan is the only remaining copper smelter in the Lake Superior region. It was operated by the Quincy Mine until 1972 and processed ore from 13 local mines.
Mont Ripley Ski Area is in the distance. It is owned by Michigan Technological University.
