Artist's Description
Round Island Lighthouse in the Straits of Mackinac was built in 1895 and was actve until 1947 when it was replaced by the nearby Round Island Passage Light. Round Island is next to Mackinac Island, Michigan and the lighthouse was featured in the Mackinac Island movie "Somewhere in Time" staring Christopher Reeve, Jane Seymour and Christopher Plummer.
Round Island Wilderness Area is within Hiawatha National Forest.
