St. Helena Island Lighthouse is located on a 240 acre unoccupied island, seven miles west of the Mackinac Bridge in the Straits of Mackinac in Michigan. The lighthouse was constructed in 1873 and automated in 1922. It was nearly destroyed, but today is owned by the Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association.
