Artist's Description

This mule deer (Odocoileus hemionus) is standing in a prairie dog town about 1/4 mile from the Eight Mile Corner Tristate point where the states of Kansas, Oklahoma and Colorado meet. I loved the lighting on this early July day. It added a lot to all of the photos in the Cimarron National Grassland.

This shot was captured with a Canon PowerShot SX20 IS set at f/5, 1/60 second shutter speed and ISO-80.
