Artist's Description

The West Blockhouse at Fort Mackinac on Mackinac Island, Michigan was constructed in 1798. Since the mid 1800s, this angle has been photographed by thousands of tourists and professional photographers. Fort Mackinac was built by the British during the American Revolution and recaptured by the British during the War of 1810. That is the Straits of Mackinac in the distance.
