Artist's Description
The smooth ice covered surface of the Straits of Mackinac was broken up by ice windrows formed near the south shore of the Straits of Mackinac in the winter of 2010.
The bridge in the background is the 5 mile long Mackinac Bridge - the longest suspension bridge in the Americas. It links Michigan's Upper Peninsula and Lower Peninsula.
